What is ICON MANILA?
ICON MANILA ENTERTAINMENT DESIGN GATHERING is an annual event, in partnership with De La Salle - College of Saint Benilde and The Animation Council of the Philippines, held in the beautiful city of Manila, Philippines for professionals and students in the entertainment design industry. This event gathers the creative minds in animation, film, games, illustration, and visual effects. Event speakers have decades of proven experience in their fields of expertise. Their collective knowledge shared in this event push farther, higher, and stronger Southeast Asia's impact on the entertainment design industry.
This is a non-profit event. All proceeds from this event will go to humanitarian and medical missions in the country. Certificates of Participation will be issued to all participants.

ZAC RETZ
Visual Development artist for feature animated films. This includes environment designs, story moment paintings, prop designs, color scripts, paint lighting keys, and more. Worked at Sony Pictures Animation. Currently at Alcon Entertainment in California, USA.

MIKE AZEVEDO
Mike Azevedo is a freelance Illustrator and concept artist from Osasco-São Paulo. He has worked with clients such as Valve/Riot Games/ Blizzard / Tencent/ Games Workshop / Guerrilla Games/ VOLTA/ and others. He is now working as an art director and CEO of Mar Studio. He also teaches at ICS School in São Paulo. He loves crazy colors and sketching smiling creatures.

BOBBY PONTILLAS
Bobby is currently an art director at Taiko Studios and co-director (with Andrew Chesworth) of their first short film, One Small Step. In his varied career he has worked as an animator and character designer at such studios as Disney Animation, Blue Sky & Arena Net. He'll always credit Disney's Tarzan and the work of Glen Keane as a major inspiration to get into animation!

FINNIAN MACMANUS
Finn is a senior concept designer working in the film and game industries. Based out of Los Angeles, he has recently contributed to titles such as Jungle Cruise, The Lion King, Avatar Sequels, Rogue One and God of War. Architecture, history, science fiction and natural landscapes are all a big source of inspiration to his work; which intends to capture vast and culturally rich environments. Always trying to find ways to experiment, Finn now uses a combination of VR sculpting, photoshop painting and 3D rendering to create most of his designs.

ARMAND SERRANO
Filipino American visual development
artist and production designer for animated movies and games based in California, USA. Currently working at Marvel Studios.
Some of Armand's credits include Zootopia, Big Hero 6, Olaf's Frozen Adventure, Animal Crackers, Mulan, Lilo And Stitch, Hotel Transylvania, League of Legends, World of Warcraft etc.
